new owner / 2000 ls

Not 100% sure on that, sorry.

Upper control arms for the rear when ordered for a Lincoln LS may arrive with the word JAGUAR stamped on it, least one out of the two of mine did.

MOOG Part # K80246 & K80245

DEEZA Part # JAL607 Toe adjust link (note: no passive steering though)

1st GEN LS

Should stay away from the Energy Suspension sway bar bushings, they are too narrow for the bracket and slide side to side.
there is too much play on these. Member Hite337 put me onto Rein XR819697, I also confirmed the ES bushings move about.

You'll need to order qty 2 as the shopping cart misleads you to think qty 1 is a set, which it is not.

Use the old OEM bushing brackets, clean them up and use the Jag bushings. They are a direct fit on the 1st GEN LS.

Removed the Universal Energy Suspension bracket and bushings as they are not a good fit.

Replaced with original brackets and REIN Jaguar bushings.

Fits like OEM. Bolt near the DCCV was a PITA again!

just ordered those rear links. with the miles on the car, i'm sure
they need replacing anyway. also ordered front end links as well.
believe thats what the clunking is in the front, after inspecting it
on the lift.

will be ordering a full set of shocks next week, and that should do
it for now, unless we find something else during the r&r of the
other parts.

do appreciate the info and links you provided there, bigrig. i'll post
pics of the work done once i get parts in and the car back on the lift.

here's the shop :)

was installing a full set of coilovers that day.

I wish I had a real V8...

or a real choice of anything aftermarket...

or a car that needed anything more than a sundial to time passes... lol

also went ahead and ordered another set of front upper control arms
with the ball joints and bushes already pressed in. went with a cheaper
ebay set ( $90 shipped ) just to see how they perform. should be okay
since i dont beat on this car at all. drive it like a old(er) man lol

04 GTO stall is sweet! NSSP cam kit?

its the ms3 cam ( 237/242 .603/.609 ), along with a set of
219cc 241 heads. putting close to 450hp wheel, which means
motor is making north of 520hp. very good for a miserly ls1 :)

its a 6 speed, so no problems daily driving it. has a really good
tune on it.

here's a bit wider pic of it...

not too shabby for all motor!
sounds like you got a good solid combo there

man I really wish they made a manual G8 with the LS2 (well the almost a LS2...), since they didn't make a whole lot of GXP's they are kinda hard to find and still kinda expensive. I have thought about getting a GTO but they made it look to much like a Grand Prix and that kinda ruins it for me... I do know a guy has the holden bumper on his and it looks much better so that may still be an option.

everyday I feel like I'm getting that much closer to replacing my LS with something with an LS!

that's one reason i got the gto. subtle looks and australian
interiors. gxp's are hard to find, they only imported a few
thousand. BUT, for the up-cost of the gxp, you could invest
in an ls2 g8 gt and be at more hp. its all a trade off.

we've done a lot of cts v builds, and a few ls swaps into classic
cars. to say the ls platform is easy and reliable would be an
understatement.

Although no LS, I've got the Nissan 370Z, 2009 NISMO or 2010 40th anniversary edition,
in either Brilliant Silver or Platinum Graphite on the top of my "next car" list.

~ I'd go for the convertible but I'm already past my mid life crisis moment.

okay, so we got the car up on the lift this afternoon to give it a good once
over. wow. so... um.... i understand this is a 14 year old car, but for
crying out loud, the bushes / ball joints DO NOT last on these cars lol

i'll post some pics of the pure fackary tomorrow, but below is a pic of one of
the end links, just to provide context to what we found. so, today, we
replaced the end links, front and back, and front outter tie rod ends. next
wknd will be upper control arms, hubs, steering knuckle, and all associated
ball joints as i bought units that already had the ball joints pressed in - as
well as the rear toe link rods, and a new set of shocks. this thing wil be riding
like new within the next few weeks.

You should have seen the condition of the rubber parts on my '65 Mustang in '74. ALL the bushings and boots were past it.......

Then there were the 10K mile tune-ups, carburetor adjustments, etc.......

Looks like it bottom'd out on the front end on a large dip somewhere, no harm done by the looks, should be alright.
Should see the underneath of my LS ... put a lot of hours into it, all undercoated covered with a European rock guard.

Any chance you can post pics of the new MOOG rear end links that went in? When I put mine in I lost focus on which side went were and despite looking at it, determining it only looked right one particular way, I wouldn't mind matching pics with yours.

had them both out of the boxes and lost track of right vs left P/N's
put them in like this, didn't seem to fit correctly the other way around.

hoped I had them in correctly, I double checked when it got lowered onto the ground, seems ok, nothing bending.

yeah, on the scratches, thats when i 1st got it and didnt realize quite how low it
was, so i went over a speedbump a bit quick, and it hit the bars pretty good.
that was my fault lol ...

i'll get a pic of them installed next wknd when we swap out the rest of the suspension
bits, but here is a side by side pic of the old one and new one - in any case, the way
its laying on the ground is exactly how it goes on the car, with the top stud angled
in, towards the center of the car. really glad they are greasable units, too !

^ those would be the RIGHT side then ?

I might not have mine in correctly.

EDIT: No looks like I have them in the right way. (I've been going back and forth on this for so long)

Just imagine me crawling underneath it everywhere, grinding away at the Canadian surface rust. Wasn't all that bad, summer car now, previous owner took it through a few winters and I did the last half of a winter when I first took possession of it. Never again.
