How do you get the halves of the visor apart without breaking the snaps? Also does the tan oval trim piece with the 3 holes snap off?

i didn't. i just replaced and rewired the whole visor. its from a 2nd gen.

ugh that color... makes me love my black even in the summer

 yeah well. its what i got. i have neither the money nor the will to change it.

"i didn't. i just replaced and rewired the whole visor. its from a 2nd gen."

Ah, I thought you meant you put the Homelink thing in your visor.

Bought new windshield wiper blades and put them on. I know, big day.

If you can wait and order one i'd suggest one from dbelectrical on ebay. 100 bucks brand new.

Charged the AC in my car, the more i drive my Mark, the more i love that silly car...

I need to charge mine too. I suspect this car had been sitting for months before I bought it a month ago now. An AC hose was replaced nearly 10 years ago as reported in Carfax. But it may still have a tiny leak, or it just hadn't been charged since then.

I didn't have enough $ to buy new tires for this car, so I **attempted** to switch the wheels from the TBird but all the lugs were torqued down to about 2,000,000 lbs on the Mark and one of the lock lugs was halfway warn (couldn't get a good grip).

I will have to take it to a shop and hope their impact guns will get all the lugs off without shredding any lug threads or damaging the key lugs.

If I get a flat tire, I will be SOL before then.

if youre wheel studs are already over torqued you need to replace them, you run the rist of them snapping and then you loose a wheel.
you can get a whole set with new nuts for about $50, unless you want chrome, pretty easy to change yourself with a hammer and a larger nut to set the stud with (if you want to attempt it yourself ill explain how)

I tried to sensor lower mine today but the car wont get any lower then it can with the ASHAM at the lowest setting. :( So now the ASHAM is at full drop when set half way.
Dont know why the white car could get lower, dont see the tires hitting anything.
Gonna have to put the sensors back to stock but its 105* out and 110* with the heat index and I am shot so will wait for another day to put them back.

i spent 2 days buffing my wifes car after looking at the finish real close. i dont pay attention to her car but seeing it friday night after work i couldnt let it sit any longer the way it was. this is what the car looked like.

Looks good. When you sent me the text I didnt pay enough attention and thought you just detailed yours again.

Yeah, its hard keeping a wifes car clean. Women are terriable at that. You ask them to wash it and it will get done at the automated wash thats free with a fillup.

flew to nashville yesterday to pickup my new toy! 98 lsc blk on blk with 51000 1 owner, well 52000 now that im back home, couldnt pass it up for the price! needs to be repainted ,clear coat is coming off, and small dent by gas tank, sat out in sun a lot. lots of little things to be fixed or replaced on it . the guy never washed it and not sure what he did on the inside but looks like he pulled and wrenched on the center console for some reason . have one pic will try to get more soon. no rust so i like that alot. ahd to stop in hannibal mo last night as i had a terrible squealing from the front end, changed out idler pulley that didnt do it, changed out tensioner pulley and that did it. for about 12 miles then it started again! went another 150 miles like that watching my guages to make sure alt or water pump didnt go out , found another oriellys and changed out belt , and that fixed it . forgot to mention they didnt have abelt or air filter in hannibal.
checked widsheild wipers they were originals i swear! rotted out and completely useless so replaced them too! went to use lighter for to charge phone and it wouldnt work because it was full of ash! cleaned it out and it works fine now but ash everywhere because he never put the asht tray back in it! was in glove compartment! hasnt been smoked in in a few years he said. quit smoking a long time ago i guess. lots of cleaning and replacing things but thats what i love about these cars . will be posting in the parts section all the stuff i need , check it out you will be surprised at what he broke.

Today, took car on Road trip to The Ford Nationals at Carlisle

Had this marked on the calendar for a while but only decided to make the drive late Sunday morning. Little sleep & 120 miles one way. But it was worth the trip. While my Mark VIII LSC was not on Show display, it did get a good parking Spot near the Main gate to show it's self off. ;)

Kinda Wished I had showed up early( got in at 2pm). Some cars were leaving about then. Like a dummy I did not bring a camera. OH, well. Lots cars across the Ford, Merc, & Lincoln spectrum to see & lots of vendors. never thought I'd see People still with Pinto's or even a nice 60k mile 1979 Futura.

It was the lincoln crowd that I was happy to see. The Lincoln's of Distinction Club http://www.lincolnsofdistinction.org/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=59 was well represented with mark 7's & 8's. Even a nice Town car. My favorites by far was the Prize winning Convertible black '96 Mark VIII & the Red '98 Collector edition. The Mark makes a striking convertible. They should have pics at their site of their rides.

The Drive on the Turnpike was nice & no tickets!. The troopers were out, but not too heavy. Had one close call, but the radar missed me. Time to buy a detector If I Travel out that way again.

i just need the rectifier plate and i can pick one of those up for much less than that.

I simply made a recommendation. 99.9% of people will just pony up the money to buy a new one instead of fixing an old alt piece by piece as it wears out.

Tell me about it, the Fuddruckers Car Cruise in Bridgewater NJ has an old man that show with the Green Pinto he bought new and still has. He won a prize this last show

Just got the 3 dings in the door plus a big one on the roof taken care of. The 200K+ Bentley was brand new and had a tiny ding above the drivers door handle. I removed the door and headliner prior to the repair so it only took him 15mins max ($150).

I have two deep scratches in the drivers door that will be taken care of next week and then the car is pretty much perfect except for the chips on the front bumper and that will be taken care of by Temple Performance soon... How much more Soon JT?
