What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

thanks ratdog ,i wanted to call but i hate big cities and was not happy about having to try and get out of there . makes me very nervous driving in a place like that

flew to nashville yesterday to pickup my new toy! 98 lsc blk on blk with 51000 1 owner, well 52000 now that im back home, couldnt pass it up for the price! needs to be repainted ,clear coat is coming off, and small dent by gas tank, sat out in sun a lot. lots of little things to be fixed or replaced on it . the guy never washed it and not sure what he did on the inside but looks like he pulled and wrenched on the center console for some reason . have one pic will try to get more soon. no rust so i like that alot. ahd to stop in hannibal mo last night as i had a terrible squealing from the front end, changed out idler pulley that didnt do it, changed out tensioner pulley and that did it. for about 12 miles then it started again! went another 150 miles like that watching my guages to make sure alt or water pump didnt go out , found another oriellys and changed out belt , and that fixed it . forgot to mention they didnt have abelt or air filter in hannibal.
checked widsheild wipers they were originals i swear! rotted out and completely useless so replaced them too! went to use lighter for to charge phone and it wouldnt work because it was full of ash! cleaned it out and it works fine now but ash everywhere because he never put the asht tray back in it! was in glove compartment! hasnt been smoked in in a few years he said. quit smoking a long time ago i guess. lots of cleaning and replacing things but thats what i love about these cars . will be posting in the parts section all the stuff i need , check it out you will be surprised at what he broke.

Yeah my phone jammed up as I was making my post

Sexy find! And with a moonroof...my cars twin :), I call dibs if its ever for sale

Today, time to change some fluids....

Well after the long drive to Carlisle, being 90+degrees & pay day I stopped for a oil change & Car wash. Since buying the car I've not ventured under the hood much. Today was too hot to start. Let the pros play. So new filter, some Pennsoil synthetic & since we are at 94K miles they talked me into the trans fluid change. From the looks of things, likely never done. Not quite Nascar pit crew fast job, but better than my two hands could done. Car seemed to smile after the wash a bit.:D

That may not be a good thing. If the fluid that came out was brown, burnt and tarnished then you may start to have some slip in a few hundred miles.

Had the AC recharged during my lunch break today. The tech told me there was only 3/4 lb left in the system. A full vacuum and recharge did the trick. On my way home I was all cozy and cool the whole 35 miles. $79.

RAAMtted the roof and installed white face gauges. I will re-install the headliner tomorrow then she's off to paint on Monday for a couple of deep scratches on the drivers side door. Met a fellow Mark owner with a very nice Tan '96 while i was picking up Reef tank supplies at the local Fish store. I showed him the silver interior thing I have going on right now with the sound deadening install as well as the new system He had over 200K on the OD and I went over all the normal things that need doing on an FN10 . I found it odd that his rear window trim was perfect and he has yet to do (or have do) the dreaded blend door replacement/fix... I've had two Marks so far and I'm 2 for 2 plus I just noticed my Neon is not working!... Good thing I pulled the Glitch ballast out of the 1st Mark (and the two new headlights) after it was totaled. I wonder if he knows about Glitch and is he even around anymore? Thanks again Glitch for saving the day... again!

I guess I'll wait to do the ballast till after I get it back from paint... :(

I am playing with Ford engineering on a 14 year old northern car:

Uppers were not too bad. Lowers had a lot of slop in the ball joint. Strut rod bushings were toast. I have to get the inner and outer tie rods off and then I can slap the passenger side back together.

I unloaded mine after completing the Hot rod power tour. 7 states in 7 days... Not counting the ride from oh to fla lol

I finally decided to say screw it when trying to save the boot and took off the inner and outer as one unit. The outer tie rod and nut would not budge even after I heated the nut cherry red. I would just rather pay the $13.99 for a new boot. I also threw the new upper on. I should be able to get the rest of it back together after work tomorrow.

Had my garage door break and fall. Cracked the mesh grille from Sapperfire. Oh well, nothing some glue won't fix...

Wet sanded, polished and waxed the headlights..This time with a drill attachment. They look VERY purty. Love that Meguires(?) stuff.

Got a belated birfday gift today. Now I gotta get some cash to have them installed. :D

Thanks. A good friend suprised me by ordering them and having them drop shipped. :)

I wanted the quietest tire with the best performance I could get and the Invos have great ratings in both areas. Cant wait to have them installed!

Prolly gonna have to run with the TC off for a bit cause I have 255/45 up front and the height difference is just enough to mess it up I think.

After the Avons up front wear out I will get some 245/45 for the nose. :)

Hate Wood Grain with a black interior so bad...it doesn't go together at all..so I did this

Yes there's a smudge at the top right because the AC guy was stirring up dust..I wet sanded it once it dried and hit it with another coat, looks perfect now

Called around for some tint estimates. Lowest was 175. I'll prob drop it off saturday or take it in thurs or fri before work and wait around for 2.5hrs while they do it.
