What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

Installed my $100 NOS Driver's headlight. :D

1 down, 1 to go! :cool:

That pic reminded me I need to snap my grill back into the bumper on the drivers side.
 
Every Mark I have had does it. It seems like speeds over 80mph cause it to flex enough to pop out. :lol:

I see...And to think this whole time I thought it was from when my front bags fully deflated right before i went over a set of RR tracks and tweaked the bumper/supports.

1. learned my W3Z2 is in fact speed limited. :( oh well. i need to get a chip anyway for the...
2. completed 4.10 and track lok rebuild and install.
3. installed my ddm tuning hid light kit.
 
Drove it around without door panels for the day, fourth day I've been rained out from making install progress.

Really? All I ever heard is claims on here how it is not speed limited. Was it around 140?

yep, i heard the same. and i believe it was around 132. i didn't check too closely, i was busy driving.
now limited around 100 with the 4.10s.
 
Was going to install my new Brembo front rotors and Ceramic pads today, but the dewpoint is creeping near 75 and temps are in the mid 90's with bright sun.

I think ill wait till the weekend. Pass the beernuts and the pickled herring.:cool:
 
90? its been 105-110 for WEEKS here now. Waxed the car when it was 108* and 75% humidity the other day. I think I lost around 10 lbs. :lol:
 
I've been working on my system with 95* temps and 90%+ humidity. I just hunt for trees to park under when I borrow parking lots to use as workspace.
 
Changed plugs on my Mark VIII this morning. I used Auotlite 764's gaped at .054 it runs alot smoother now and gas millage i hope will improve quiet a bit. :D
 
i could just think of so many other things that i could use $100 for other than just because i want a matching set of headlights -shrug- frugal i guess

im even going to attemp to install my own rear glass, because i dont really have $150 to pay a glass shop to do it... that, and i think it would be wise to broaden my automotive skills some

Installing glass like that isn't hard, my dad puts the windshield and back glass in fastback mustangs all the time takes about 5-10 minutes once the rubber is on the glass.
 
Charged the AC on Saturday morning. Took 2 cans of refrigerant. I need to figure out the leak and fix it at some point, but I need the AC to work NOW!

Took a 320 mile round trip cruise today to pick up the Octastars and tires I bought from Derrick (Dmaup). 6 hours in the car with ice cold AC and good music. It don't get much better than that....

Except it did!

I got to meet another Mark VIII enthusiast, which was great. He talked a lot about what a great group of guys he's met through the boards. Told me about Carlisle, Boscobel and working with the Beardstown crew, k9t8m and Chicken to get the 5 speed installed in his LSC.

Oh, and he took me for a ride in it!

DAMN!!!!

I don't know when I'll get this grin off my face! That is an awesome setup! The 1-2 shift threw me back in my seat. I can't believe how quick and fun that car is!

Great too meet you Derrick. Thanks for the ride! Hopefully, we'll get a chance to meet up again!

I tested mine last night on HWY 565 and it's not limited. The OD did in fact hit 140. It got there pretty quick too. A lot faster than I expected but I had to do it in a spot where it just so happen to be empty of traffic. Going that fast, I don't feel good about holding any recording device. That's an adrenaline rush seeing how 100 is about as fast as I have had the car since I bought it back in late Jan 2010.

Not sure why yours is limited Chris. Are you positive it is a Z2 and not a Z3?
