was prolly already cracked.
Yeah I think it was. Didn't take much torque to break it. Now the car is down indefinitely until I can get another adapter.

I'm actually on my way to South Carolina right now. I'll be driving the Cougar for a little while. I won't be back home until sometime tomorrow night. So I'll have to see what I can find next week.

How come you're not using Teflon tape on those threads? if I had to describe you in one word it would be "badatfollowingdirections"
 I did use a generous wrapping of teflon tape on the threads. Apparently the tape is still stuck to the part of the adapter that is still attached to the engine.
I've only changed that opsu 2x...both times it was plenty tight way before all the threads disappeared into the femaleWell. Found my oil leak

:shifty: I don't see even a stitch of Teflon on the OPSU threads
The button on the shifter does nothing..it has always been a little loose moving a bit left to right. Is there a tutorial anywhere on how to replace it for a gen 1? Apparently the thin cables break a lot..
It was snug, but not tight. It didn't start getting tight until it was almost completely flush with the housing.
It's there. Trust me.
