What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

Took it down to the exhaust shop and had the rest of my exhaust ran! I only had the front part that stops right after the tranny where it comes apart! I bought a back part from the junk yard and from another LSC and tried to get that put on but it was too bent up and messed up! They just went ahead and ran me some new pipes to the mufflers and put some new tips on! I put the ones that look like the LSC tips from a GEN 1 on it! They are chrome and look very similar to the GEN 1 LSC tips! I will put some pics up tomorrow when I find my cable that goes to my phone!!! I took some while they were running them!! It looks pretty good! I just gotta get some cash up to get some new mufflers!!!

I hate grass hoppers.

Too late....his car no longer rolls...it hops...

Picked up a few parts for mine and Lasers car today..my local salvage yard came thru with some rare floor mats for $1.00
also got him the grey fuse panel and passenger panel for the SRS side he needed

got a black mint looking shifter with chrome button for mine, and the ABS controller I needed...now maybe my ABS light will be gone

I got both for Laser since he has been searching for a long time and hasn't found any...so if anyone has some and mentions they are for sale, you'll be murdered
gonna drop them off at the cleaners tomorrow so the light stains will be gone :)

I finally got some new plug wires for my Mark VIII and will be installing them tomorrow morning. :D

rerouted my fm transmitter wire through the cellphone input panel in the armrest..God i love stuff thats hardwired..I hate f'n wires and chargers all over the place..To date my transmitter, radar detector and gps are all wired in that manner.

I also remounted my rear canisters under the trunk. This time it looks alot better and more reliable.

Would you mind posting some pics or sending me a PM on how you did that? My wife uses an FM transmitter to play her iPod and it would be nice to have it hard wired. Thanks.

feed the power wire through the cell panel or drill a hole if you dont have 1. Press in the tabs on both sides and it will pop out.

ran the wire through the cupholder as i never use it. I figure it wont break if its never open.

run the power wire(cig jack) under the consel and above the black panel by your knees. There will be a space were you can feed the wire from the back once you reach the fuse panel..

buy a $4 "add a fuse" or something like that to a switched 12v source as seen in the pic. I used the upper left bolt as a gound for all 3 of mine.

To hardwire it using the cig plug you'll have to open it up..You'll see a power (the nipple part) and the ground (sides). tap into those leads and run the wire to the fuseblock. You have to keep whatever is left in the cig lighter jack as it will contain resisters and such..When i opened mine up i just discarded the "nipple" part of the jack (screws off). And run the wire through the now empty hole.

hardwired, hidden wire for all.

The only one i didnt have to use the cig plug with was the radar. i just snipped it and ran wire to the fusebox. I would not recomend this..I got lucky and it didnt blow.

I used to do this same thing with my cars. I did it a little differently. I used a muti-plug cigarette adapter plug almost like this:

Then I just hardwired it with a long standard 20 amp fused wire from the center console of my car to my amplifier distribution block in my trunk. I then used another short peice of wire to ground the strip under the console. I cut the wire to the cigarette plug on the strip and crimped these two new wires to the wires the power wiring I ran. I ran all the cords from my GPS, Sat Radio, Phone charger, etc to the console and plugged them in to the power strip after tucking the wiring all away. I used two sided tape and velcro to affix the power strip inside the floor of the console, I then hot glued some felt in black to a small peice of balsa wood and made a false floor in the console to cover the strip.
