What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

Got a whole buncha snow today! About 6" worth. I'll go out and take some pics in a little while. This is the most snow we've had in several years.

Turning while braking is more than likely a brake issue, hoses (either) have cracked internally and are creating a flapper valve, binding caliper, or hardware. Fords are BAD for brake hardware...those guide pins need to be WELL lubed with brake parts lubricant and no rust.

i think its a worn suspension issue. i believe my front strut arm bushings are shot where they go through the k member. they are original after all. i had this problem before and it was the rear bushings through the lca.
i hope it isn't a brake issue.. the brakes are pretty new..
i'll check it out all the same though.

You can tell a bind by "reading" the pads usually, If you take it apart and have any questions, just take some pics of the pads with the friction surface held together. And let me know what side they are on, and which one is the inner/outter pad
dude I hear "my brakes are new" "it's not doing anything wrong" "they only squeek sometimes" ...etc etc everyday... Then only to take it apart and find things like...missing a pad, twisted hoses...all kinds of dangerous stuffs. You'd be amazed at what the brakes of the person behind you look like! It's scarey

Last week, had the oil changed and all fluids checked.
Noticed red fluid in the driveway after very cold weather. (Tranny fluid)
Specifically asked Jiffy Lube to check the tranny fluid level. They probably didn't so after noticing slipping of gears like action took it back up to have the fluid checked. Sure enough, they had to add quite a bit of fluid. I have a gasket leak at the rear end. Easy fix or very extensive work involved?

Also, for years, my anti - lock brakes actually lock up on me and the car will go skidding many feet depending on the speed of travel. is there a way to disengage the anti-lock system and just have regular old braking ?

Please help. kevinmcgrier@yahoo.com if you have info.

Thanks guys

Who can't check their own trans. fluid?

i walked out of my front door this morning and did not shovel snow :D

i lowered my car just as far as the slots would allow me, i didnt want to move the brackets... it looks really gooooooddd

got off work and drove the mark home and my damn check transmission message came on so i pulled over and turned of the car and started it back up and drove again and it still came on and it shifted fine buit wtf is the issue can anyone HELP

Had the oil changed today and no i didn't do it myself :( , i live in an apartment and have no access to a garage with a lift.

Not that I could afford it but I ordered new rear tires today. Gonna have to go without groceries or smokes for the month.

Car>eating

That's gotta suck. :(

Yeah, not used to it by any means. I work on my own unless I feel like I'd be safer with help or someone more qualified. I only have one friend with a place I can bring my car to work on it but then I have to get rides there/back to work on it more than a day.

Put a remaned FoMoCo alternator in spent the morning in the rain pulling a rear sway bar out of a T-Bird LX got some poly bushings in and now I gotta wait until spring to test it

I have both, but still can't, my complex doesn't allow any repairs on cars at all.

You gotta be sneaky..Do it on a sunday as most are closed that day. I did my air compressor, wheel repair and other misc things at my old place. Only 1 time during work hours did a maint man tell me to watch for the apt people, and i was only checking the air filter...He didn't care..But i guess it all depends on the apt complex, how the lot is designed ect.

I live in the building RIGHT next to the pool/office, the bluehairs are always complaining about sh*t and a Bradenton PD Supervisor just so happens to be the complex security guard, he lives upstairs from me... Someone is always on my ass.
