What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

Finally got around to gluing the inner door handle bezel back on the P/S door on the '96 because it keeps fallin off when the door is closed. I also installed a new LED light strip under the dash on the driver's side because the old light got ripped out when I took the bottom cover off the dash (and didn't realize that the light was attached...duh). Now I have light on both sides of the dash!! Yay!!

- looking to buy another gen 2 but a 1998 and found a few locally but asking way too much and i stated stripping the other car and ect.....

-found a silver 1998 for 1200 but it was hit on the rear passanger quater... thanks don but its 1200 to fix
-found torrendor red one with grey interior in greenville for 1200 just swap suspention parts over and swap the new trans over from the 99 mustang with jmod and put gears and exhaust on and shes ready to fly like the bird but if shes air ride even better

Washed it.

Installed a balanced driveshaft with new u joints, converted to coils added new rear cobra shocks, put on my new wheels and tires, gave it a new deep tans pan and upgraded the valve body and shift pistons and springs. Finally I fell in love with driving it all over again. pics to follow as soon as it gets washed

Hey KD, I'm having trouble with my pm box, it won't send my reply, Im guessing you got the perch since you installed the springs.

I did not. I just couldn't wait any longer. I needed to have my car back, so when it shows up I'll just slap it in real quick.

I rocks!! I need to go see josh today or monday and get the wheels balanced I knocked off the wheel weights on the rears not paying attention when I was power washing them when i got em last week. I can carve curves again! Not to mention i cant keep the azz end straight when it shifts under moderate to heavy acceleration!!!:D:D:D:D:D

Finally installed my head unit and repositioned my satellite receiver as the previous position last week by putting it in the center console was a pain with having to take my eyes of the road to get to it and change channel.

Also I put my new LVC stickers on. WHOO HOOO!

This picture is what I had done last week, but was not feasible nor safe while driving.

And this is what I changed it to. Much better in way of safety.

Now remove pin stripes :p

KD that thing should have been there like a week ago, I put it in a black and yellow brake shoe box

I'll keep my eyes out for it but as of yet it has not shown up here yet as soon as it does I'll let you know

i removed my god awful rigged up cold air intake set up thats been on the car since i bought it. i took it all apart to clean the conical filter above the air compressor bracket. i decided not to put it back in, instead i removed the elbow and snorkle from another mark VIII and made my own set up. all i did was use the factory snorkle and just the elbow that is inside the stock mark VIII air silencer and put that into the hole where the bottom half of the stock air box goes. i then sat the bottom half of a stock air box in and bolted it to the factory location, i sealed the elbow to the bottom of the air box, and installed a K&N filter that i kept from my old car, put my maf back into a stock top half of the air box and reinstalled it all. it looks so much better now without that big ugly header wrapped intake tube. it still getting mad amounts of air because of the way i did this, i'll post pics later after i upload them from my phone but i am much happier its 10 times cleaner now.

finished my rear tray mod and resecured and covered the rear air susp plugs/lines. O' and used fix a flat to plug a slow leak on one of my winter wheels.

Added a couple more degrees timing on the top end and about 1.5* more in the middle. Changed the IAC duty cycle to half of what it was and gave the knock sensor a little more controll plus changed the base idle RPMs.

Threw in the towel on figuring out my sporatic idle issues and drivability problem. I hate this car, and I hate myself for being dumb enough to buy it!

So far I've only rotated the front tires of my new purchase since they were facing backwards.

while at the gas station, I met the owner of some other Mark VIII I've seen around the hood with sweet pearl white paint job and very nice Cobras. Turns out the guy is parting his car.

I didn't understand why until he told me that he didn't listen to his conscious of not driving over some huge water puddle this one time when Chicago got flooded not to long ago and ended up water logging his engine. So as he put it to me, he either spends a nice penny for new engine, or just part it out.

Yikes for him, Yay for me!!! :D

yeah these motors are SO expensive... im selling my other for a whopping $250. and according to Jamie, should only take an hour and a half to swap

so now what?

Nothing, I'm gonna keep being pissed until fix it, then I'll be happy :D. At 2:30 in the morning I found a possible vacuum leak near the PCV valve area that did affect idle while I manipulated the hoses, but it was too dark to see well. I don't hate it, I just get pissed at how much trouble I have with my Mark VIIIs compared to various other cars, even Lincolns I have owned.
