What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

The one that split was on the right rear, it blew apart on my way to Bills while I was delivering the bags I got from Lincolnboy. The 2 that are stacked were on the fronts, I just had an alignment done, and even went back to check again after installing the 18s, everything was still in spec. There was some slight wear on them but it wasn't that bad.

The tires are 245/45 18

The one that's split looks like it may have rubbed against something.. What offset are the wheels?
Do you have bags on the rear or springs?

Had to replace the thermostat housing today, It had been cracked for a while and when we changed it it finally broke all the way. I had the wife drive across town to get a new one, she's awesome don't know what I'd do without her except go get the part my damn self! lol! lol!

I just stared at mine in front of the house for awile and realized how sexy it is!

You do that too? (don't we all?)

Yours is (of course) a LOT more sexy than mine, but when it's parked in the back yard and I'm on the back deck, I can't keep my eyes off of it! :)

On topic:

My trans. parts ordered from Maxx got here Friday, late afternoon. After supper, my son and I went to a neighbors down the road who has a lift in his backyard shop, and we:

...upgraded trans. fluid from the factory Mercon III to V, with new filter, and OEM gasket... turns out my gasket was fine and could have been re-used, but I didn't know that for sure beforehand.

...upgraded 1-2 accumulator piston, upper spring, and seal. The old upper spring had not broke and o-rings had not worn out, so inside of bore was nice and smooth... great!

Skipped putting the new Autolite 764's in that night, we didn't get through until 10:30p as it was. Hope these fix the slight skip during low RPM/pulling a grade in OD problem... I know, I should do wires too, but can't afford the good ones yet.

Saturday morning:

Took the Mark down the road to a sand pit that I do work for, and the head Maint. guy hooked an Actron Elite CP9185 to the EEC and got the following codes:

111 No Faults Detected KOEO test
157 Mfg. specific code (searched here and found this is a MAF voltage code)
634 Manual Lever Position voltage out of range, so...

Saving up for new sensors and plug wires, hopefully in the next couple of weeks... later guys...

I was getting a bad squeal after changing the belt and idler pulley so I changed out the water pump and belt tensioner. Now all I have to do is burp it properly, but I've done enough for the day.

Well, my wife has been driving my Mark VIII since I had my surgery, and boy has it got dirty. So today I was testing my healing process and went out and tried washing it with my head and neck brace on. Still sore as a raped ape, but got it washed. Clean again, taking it in this weekend for a full synthetic lube and filter change.

The best thing about her driving it this past week and a half is, now she wants to drive it as her own. So my reverse syc job worked, and I am in the position to buy another one, in the color I want. I knew she would want it as hers, so it looks as if I am driving her Mustang when I am healthy to work until I find another treasured low mileage Mark. :D

Got these on the way.

Found out i have i little pond forming by my feet. Had a bit of rain the last couple days. Think i found the culprit. Will fix this weekend.

Got it burped. I had to use vice grips to get the cap off. Now thew only accessory that is not new is the PS pump.

changed my headlights, swapped all my interior lights to red except the middle dome light, cleaned off the car, sanded some engine parts clean. Then stared at it for a few. Beautiful car.

Well got another Ballast and went to install it.

Of course no worky
Came off a working tail light I was told so now I have to figure out why the light is not working still?

Check the harness for power, if none, examine for breaks going forward all the way to the disconnect point in the driver's rear up by the back seat. Jamie has more details,a s he was helping me troubleshoot my bad neon and trunk pop, which we have not gotten around to solving yet.
