What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

Got the new(ish) solenoid for the front spring on the '97 in the mail yesterday. Hopefully, I'll get it installed this afternoon and have the ol' girl back on the road tomorrow.:) (Clarification: I took the good air shock off the '97 and put it on the '96 so the guy could come pick it up)
 
Installed this in my trunk, center top by the cyclops tail light... Makes much brightness in there now :)

Thats Cool! You just gave me an idea for where to put a blue 24-LED light strip I got off Ebay! My trunk could definitely use more light and it would match the blue LED theme of the interior!:)

I didn't like my reading lamps coming on when opening the doors since I have 7 bulb LEDs in the rest of the enterior. I think it took away from the effect. So I just disconnected the black and blue stripe wire from the switches. Now the reading lights only work via the switch :)
 
restored both cars headlights , came out better then i thought. the mothers compound really shines them up good when you sand them right! then i used plastix to seal them up.
 
Finally started to tear down the drivers side suspension. Six more bolts to go and it will be completely apart. After that I have to find the brake fluid leak on the other side and then reseal the O-rings on the same side and finally be done.
 
Didn't get to start on the front air shock on the '97 yesterday like I wanted to. Hopefully, I'll have my new UCA today or tomorrow and I can do the solenoid and UCA at the same time. And this time I'll remember to grease the dam ball joint!!!!! Looking forward to getting the car back on the road again. I love driving the Exploder, but it just ain't the same as a Mark!

Okay. I'm pi$$ed! I just replaced the solenoid on the d/s front air spring on the LSC and it still hisses. Turns out it's leaking from where the hose plugs into the solenoid. Anyone else ever had this problem? This is really annoying me terribly.

But on the plus side, I did get my UCA installed and no more squeaky-creaky:)

Okay. Update. As it turns out, it was the air spring that was leaking. It had developed a leak on the back side of the spring next to the solenoid. That's why I thought it was the solenoid leaking. It's a hole about 1/8" long.

The good news is that I contacted Arnott and they're going to send me a new one under warranty. The only drawback is that I have to ship the defective one back to them and wait for the new one. That sucks. But at least I'll get a replacement.:)

Took some of the sears gift cards from the wedding and got a 58 pc tool set, jack and jack stands, and a 34 pc screw driver set. Now I can work on some cars
 
new deck

put a new Kenwood DNX6180 tuner GPS Nav deck in. my car is a '97 lsc with 195k on it , have to work on sig pics tho :eek:
 
New wheels!
Finally got the 5-spoke polished aluminum ARs paid for and put on (with the old tires, still paying on the new Michelins). Stuck with the stock 16", I like having sidewall.
Crap, now I gotta change my sig...
 
93 mark gutted out 3rd cat today removed back mufflers have to get extension pipe to replace mufflers with chrome tips
 
Gave her a well deserved bath/vaccum/windows/leather cond and int wipe down..She shines once again.

You let your pads get that thin?? Check the hose for cracks, if it's the caliper, let me know, I can mail you a rebuild kit

Normally, when the piston comes out far enough for fluid to leak out, the inner pad has been metal-to-metal for some time, and the inner rotor blade is worn majorly

Negative. The pads were about 50% but the calipers were the original rusty crusty ones and apparently did not like being removed and put back on. I was going to replace all of the brake hardware but was tight on money at the time. It is either the caliper or hose, I won't know until I get the wheel back off. It is an easy enough mistake to correct though.
