Help with Transmission Leak '02 LS

Hi, I have a 2002 Lincoln LS, v8, automatic, 100k miles. It has a slow transmission fluid leak (I find a few couple drops under it after it has been parked). I would appreciate any help in identifying where the leak is coming from, and approximate cost to have repaired. Thanks in advance.

    Help with Radio Wiring/amp

Thanks guys. I didn't see the 3rd connector, and assumed that it was for optional external inputs. I'll pull the head unit out and see if I can find that cable.

DCCV - Why does it fail?

I haven't heard any noises. just an occasional Passenger side hot air during A/C. I've read theories on the coils, stabilizer bar bushings, etc, but I've never read one on the DCCV. As an engineering type, I was just curious why it fails

DCCV - Why does it fail?

About 1.5 years ago, my vents would blow cold air out the driver's side, and hot air out the passenger side. I replaced the DCCV and all was good......until yesterday. So, I have a couple of questions. 1) Why do these fail so often? 2) Have there been any design changes since these...

    ac from 60* to 120*

Please help me find a how-to

It comes out very difficultly. ;) I followed the replacement instructions that are in the shop manual (you can get them on EBAY). It is not for the casual DIYer, but it can be done. At a very high level, it comes out the drivers side wheel well (Remove tire, rotor, splashguard, etc)...

AC Help? DCCV prob? Thanks for responding!

My 2002 V8 was failing just like yours. I replaced the DCCV this spring and that took care of it. I think I only paid ~ $150-$180 online (less than $200). I used on of those dealer manuals (DVD) you can buy from ebay for directions. Also flushed coolant while I was at it. If you mark the...

    Front end suspension knock

Replacing the Sway Bar "One of the suckiets jobs ever to do. " I agree and not a job for the faint of heart. I think the Bar can be had for a little over $100. Getting the entire bar re-installed is nearly impossible. Not impossible, but damn near it. So much so that 30 minutes after...

    Crazy auto Climate control

The DCCV (at least on an '02 V8) is located on passenger side between radiator and engine block, way down low. It has approximately 5 water hoses attached to it.

    a/c problamos

There are several threads on this subject - if you search a little more you will find them and info on the TSB. I had the same problem last year and changed out my DCCV this winter. Really not that difficult (especially compared to putting in the new sway bar due to the bushing thunk problem)...
